Personnel Accountability

Accountability

 

The Firefighter shall describe the elements of a personnel accountability system and demonstrate the application of the system at an Incident.

Performance Objectives: The candidate shall demonstrate the use and tracking of personnel during a simulated incident using an incident command system.


Performance Evaluation:

The evaluator shall present the candidate with an incident involving a structure fire.  The evaluator shall have the candidate apply the elements to the personnel and equipment that would normally respond.  The candidate shall be able to describe the personnel accountability system, purpose of the RIT, and the use of emergency communications. 

 

Personnel Accountability System:  

1.        Identifies components of the system

2.        Shows location of the equipment used

3.        States who is responsible for implementation

4.        Shows how a/the status board is used for tracking

5.        States that all personnel entering or leaving the area will notify the incident commander

6.        States the level of accountability

7.        States the purpose of a RIT and the RIT’s responsibilities.

8.        Demonstrates the proper use of emergency communications and procedures.  (MayDay, Evacuate The Structure, and Emergency Traffic)
